EDUCATIONAL PROPOSAL

TRAINING OF EXCELLENCE IN CONTINUOUS EVOLUTION

At Vision Group, we have always believed in the value of the profession and pursue a strategy aimed at supporting the sector and increasing the quality of the professionals working in it with a precise commitment to training.

Through our partnership with SIO – Scuola Internazionale Ottica-Optometria (International School of Optics and Optometry) we train young people who wish to enter our profession. With the VisionOttica Award we support new graduates in the sector. With the SIO – School of Business Management and the Vision Group Academy we support already trained optometrists in professional and business development.

PROFESSIONAL TRAINING OF EXCELLENCE

SIO – INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL FOR OPTICAL PROFESSIONALS

Founded in 2013 in Florence, the International School of Optics-Optometry (SIO) offers training of excellence in the technical-scientific field of ophthalmic optics.
Located inside the Santa Maria Novella station, the school offers training courses for those who want to obtain a diploma in Optics and Optometry and for professionals who want to stay constantly updated and in step with the latest technologies.

SPECIALISATION IN BUSINESS AREAS

SIO – SGA, THE MASTER COURSE FOR THE OPTICIAN ENTREPRENEURS OF THE FUTURE

The success of the International School of Optics-Optometry (SIO) has led, just two years after its foundation, to the creation of the School of Business Management for Opticians (SGA), which supplements the already wide-ranging educational offer with an Executive Master’s degree for optician entrepreneurs. Aimed at promoting a managerial culture for optical centres, the academic course aims to respond to the demands of a constantly evolving market through the teaching and in-depth theoretical and practical study of subjects such as Corporate Control, Human Resources Management, Marketing oriented to digital transformation, Data Analysis, Communication and Sales.

RESEARCH ADVANCES IN THE OPTICS SECTOR AND THEIR EVOLUTION

SIO – STUDY CENTRE

In May 2022 we created the Study Centre of the International School of Optics and Optometry of Florence to respond to the challenges of the world of health and visual well-being.

The Observatory aims to produce scientific research and market analysis on the main topics of interest, in collaboration with some of Italy’s most prestigious public and private universities, addressing the public, entrepreneurs and operators in the sector.

The Centre intends to create and disseminate, a more solid culture of visual wellbeing based on scientific research and correct information, through a constant dialogue with the production world and operators in the sector, developing new proposals on increasingly topical issues such as, for example, the use of the latest technologies, sustainability and experimentation in the field of health.

IN-HOUSE TRAINING AT AVANTGUARDIA

VISION GROUP ACADEMY, KICK-STARTING TRAINING

In 2017, we founded the ‘Vision Group Academy’, an innovative physical and digital platform to ensure the best training for the group’s employees and support affiliated optical entrepreneurs and their employees. Today, the Vision Group Academy is one of the most important drivers in the group’s development.

VISIONOTTICA AWARD

THE VISIONOTTICA AWARD COMPETITION FOR GRADUATES

In order to encourage and develop research and studies related to the profession of Optometry Optician, we have set up an annual, national competition called VisionOttica Award in collaboration with ALOeO (Association of Optics and Optometry Graduates), the Board of Optometrists (Federottica) and the Italian Universities with Degree Courses in Optics and Optometry.
The VisionOttica Award now boasts an archive of over 140 dissertations in Optics and Optometry from the seven Italian Universities with Degree Courses in Optics and Optometry. An important cultural heritage for the entire profession.

COLLABORATION WITH THE MEDICAL AREA

As Vision Group we have always believed in the technical-professional collaboration between the Medical Area and the Technical Area, respecting their specific competences. In order to act proactively and make this collaboration more concrete, we have activated the Friends for Sight Programme, which represents for Opticians a possibility of direct communication with the Medical Area and for Ophthalmologists an opportunity for information and updating on the most innovative optical technologies and products.
The aim is to put the customer/patient at the centre of attention, to turn the experience of collaboration between the Medical Area and the Technical Area into practice, to spread the culture of prevention, and to safeguard the quality of the user’s vision over time.
